hi everyone,
has anyone fished deal pier recently? going fishing there on sunday and was wondering what fish are coming up at the mo.
what baits are best? my only fear is that its the same as most places small undersized fish! cheers

i might be going there on sat eve. i'll let you know how i get on. there's been quite a few codling coming up around deal, but more at night i would say. |

i'm not 100% sure. the codling that were caught in a match at the groynes on sunday were on whites. but i would have thought that the top baits would be yellows and fresh peeler. i'll prob be taking commons, frozen crab and squid. ther aren't many fresh crabs about yet and the tides are crap for diggers to get yellows.
i would stick to the stem too, it'll prob throw up more fish and you'll loose less gear. |

i stewarded a junoir match on the pier tonight and there were very little fish about. there was a few codling coming from the bottom deck, but not many and not very big.
it might be worth considering fishing the beach, chequers or the groynes might throw a few fish up. if the wind stays as it is the fishing should get better though. don't expect too much though it's still a bit though. |
