I don't know if this is the best month for catching bass, but I caught a 1 foot bass yesterday, and i've only been fishing for around 5 weeks! I caught it on a no. 1 hook, with a normal lugworm. :S I really can't say if its the best month to do it in, but I know i am only a newbie to fishing, and i caught a bass (I know to you guys 1 foot may not seem big, but to me its the biggest thing i've ever caught! ) |

The typical Bass season starts in May and goes right through to November although they do crop up all year round. June and early July see them arrive in numbers, but I favour September and October for the big girls. Mackerel, June to October. |

I dont know where in the country you are, Bassboy, but the seasons can vary depending wher you are.
Generally for Cod/Codling October to April but less about Jan & Feb
Pollack from the boats all year round with the bigger ones through the winter and early spring
Conger April to October but in deeper water through the winter.
Mackerel Mid to end to march through to october
Bass all year but peaking july to october
This may very where you are but this is my experience of the south east coast from the boats.
Hope it helps |
