Hi there
Has anyone fished Duckpool near Bude recently?
I am off there in the morning and wondered if a Dexter might catch anything.
Will let you know how I got on tomorrow.

i would be really interested how you do there. been there many a time on holiday and often thought about fishing there, let us know how you do and where you fished from, ie: the rocks or the beach etc

I am going to Bude at the end of the month and have done a bit of research. Apparently the water has been very coloured lately and Peeler crab baits are the way to go instead of lures. But you never know, perhaps if the weather eases up the visibility will improve along with your chances.
I was also told that there are loads of sprats there at the moment, so if the fish are eating them a Dexter could be perfect.
Good luck anyway, please let us know how you get on. |

HI all
Well went on Sunday - sea quite choppy, tide coming in. FIshed off rocks for about hour and a half until my lovely Dexter got snagged and the line snapped trying to retrieve it.
A combination of water visibility and rocks makes me think that this bit of the coast is not for lures and spinning. Will return with float and lug/mussels in a couple of weeks.
Duckpool itself is a stunning cove but the beach is not the easiest place to get to.
Cheers

| Hi tadpole thanks for the info about duckpool. It's a bit far for me but if I ever get the chance to fish there I now know not to bother with lures. Do you think it's alrite for puttting a rig on the bottom........Colin |
