I`m looking to buy an uptide rod,I`ve looked at abu models with the twist lock butt,I believe you extend it to cast and retract to retrieve.
I have a 6600cl rocket to pair with it.....................any ideas please big grin
Also will that reel be suitable for the job?
Thanks in advance,Darren cool cool cool

I havent been fishing afloat for a while, but the rod i use when i do, is a Penn Extreme Uptide 2 - 8oz....... Its an absolutely blinding rod, i have used it in the winter, catching whiting and the odd cod with it but more in the summer fishing for smoothhounds and bass. It casts well and sits in the tide nicely, but the bite detection is something else especially using braid!. Casts nice and smoothly too, leaving your bait in one peice.!!

Team Diawa Uptider (the original) for me - great casting and bite detection.
