I'm going to have my first go spinning with 14lb braid. However, in view of the price of the stuff I was thinking I might put mono on my FS reel first then tie the braid to it.
The idea is that the mono will not actually be used - it's just padding out the reel.
Can anyone tell me the best knot to join the braid to the mono please? |

Thanks Welchy, I'll try that.
Wanted to be sure because I've seen several posts saying that knots with braid have to be super-strong.

Hi mate plenty knots on here
http://www.marinews.com/index.php
You need the mono backing anyway it stops the braid from slipping. Also soak the braid in a bucket of water for an hour before you load the reel.
Hope this helps |
