the common breaking strain for most is 15lb from shore anyway :wink:
mainly because it enable`s a better cast etc. But pier fishing I guess you can increase it somewhat as you dont normally need to cast far.
many sea anglers will have their own idea`s about what is best for makes
my personal choice has always been Ultima

i would say 15lb for clean ground and between 25and 35 for the rough stuff.
as for makes it's up to your budget and confidence really. either buy a cheap kilo spool of line and renew the line after every trip (this is what i do and it works out at below 50p per reel). or buy a medium priced line and use it 3-4 sessions (i would advise daiwa sensor). or buy the top notch line and change it every 10 sessions (i would advise ultima f1 or daiwa tornament). |
