Hope I dont blank, it'll be a record 3 blanks in a row which i have never managed before GULP !!!
Hitting 2 hours before bottom (10.30 full in) and 1 hour after. I would fish longer but it is an unknown mark for me off the beach. Been advised to use sandeel which could take a bass if im lucky or maybe, just maybe, a small ray ( Im hoping now maybe).

Well here goes. First off thank you shorty, i was really pegging it with the new rod and reel and to have someone there to convinve you to just wop it did help a little, the casting went smooth after a further 3 or 4 casts. Got to get back into the technical bits of casting yet though.
As for the fishing trip, I blanked miserably !!!! Saying that i have myself to blame, about 1 hour into the flood i was baiting up a sandeel wrapped in squid when i jst managed to log at the rod tip and see it doing an imperonation of a churchill dog on a car parcel shelf. By the time i got the sandeel and hook out of my titan bib n brace it had gone ! thats inexperience for you i guess. Mother nature put a good show late on with fireworks in the sky ( lightening) and unbelievably, there were still kids playing in the heavy surf at 12.30AM ! So an enjoyable session in all but my confidence of using sandeel has gone through the floor now. I have had much better luck usig mackeral in thin strips wrapped with squid but after a hat-trick of blanks, i am temporarily wondering what to do next LOL ! 4 other anglers turned out and as far as i know, no one got a fish. Maybe next time.
Shorty - i will post the shop names i used to buy stuff in bulk on the forum later when i have more time and thanks again, it is nice to put a face to a name !

cheers, that would be good mate. here are the shops i use for my tackle -

http://www.fishingweightmolds.com/ ( beads, lead clips and swivels)
http://www.uk-hooks.com/contactus.php ( bits and pieces)
http://tacklesupermarket.com/default.aspx

I think you will find most of what you need between the three. Oh, the sakuma hooks, everyone is raving about the stinger version. Have asked anglers corner in llanelli if they can get them, they are less brittle than the E540 manta's apparently.

One last thing, some guys fished oxwich on same tide, the had 2 flouder, bass and dogs. Makes you sick dont it ? LOL.
