Beach fishing around the Ilfracombe area.
Hi lads, i'm looking for some info on fishing the above area.at present i'm working down in Ilfracombe and am able to fish most tides. Could any of you let me know what baits to use and some decent marks. I've fished the quay for the last 4 weekends but not much around, even for the locals.
Any info on rigs ect would be very much appreciated.

Tight lines to you all.

Globetrotter.

Lo Globetrotter,

Have you tried the rock mark at the left hand side of Hele Bay?

Had great time big grin there last year and will be back down in a few weeks. If you park in a the car park right down by the beach. Walk onto beach hang a right a you can fish here at any state of tide, bit of a clamber over rocks (I got on a lot better when wearing my hikeing boots) and it is easy to move forward or back with the tide, usefull ledges to put gear on!!. Used rotton bottom rigs as I cast like a girl lost a bit of gear but great fun even managed to get a couple of small 1.5 lb pollock amongst the gars. You don't get bothered over on this mark in fact I fished ther four days out of 6 and no one bothered us at all.
Any way worth giving it a try!!!!
Good luck

Just spent a great night fishing Hele Bay. Unfortunately we didn't catch a thing but I'd like to thank Lee and his son and Dallydog for their company which more than made up for the fish choosing to go somewhere else for their Easter break, lol!
