Hello im new here . Was wondering if anyone could give me any help on fishing along the coast from say Barmouth right up to Criceth way on. I go to barmouth every year and have tried many different types of fishing there and never had much look until last year when i had a sea trout, Doggy, Bass and a flatty. I have knowledge in fishing just not sea fishing unfortunatly! Im after any type of fish I just want to have a few good days fishing! So if anyone could give me any help on to where to fish, bait, rigs ect it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
Some great spots around Barmouth include the main bridge (generally around the centre), try using fresh peeler crab or sandeel on a lonf flowing trace, you need only cast out around twenty yards and fish an hour up and an hour down of high tide, this is the optimum run for Bass for the next six weeks.
However if you cant get hold of these baits some fresh mussel is a very underated bait in this area.
Alternativley you can try spinning with a white or black rubber eel of the point , this is generally done around two to three hours before high tide.
I also run a fishing guide service in the area covering from Tywyn upto Anglesey, if your interested give me a call on 07789055078
Hope this helps |

Gwyneddfishingguide - Are you coming to the Fishathon on Holyhead Breakwater last week in August. If so don't forget your Mullet gear, there are some big Mullet in the Harbour. |

if you fancy spinning for mackrel and you are near Criccieth, go to the beach furthest fron the castle, turn left just after the petrol station just before you leave the village, go down to the beach nearest the rock out crop, you dont need to cast too far out, never failed to catch here. watched an elderly gent one morning use a 6 foot spinning rod, a set of feathers and instead of a lead weight he attatched some sea weed to the last hook, he fished for 20 mins just flicking the feathers into the water caught 2 mackrel then went home. i was well impressed, LOL |
