Hi, joined a week or so ago and log in most nights to read the latest posts on a great site.
I have been fishing since I was 4, some 41 years ago! Have had my own boats for the last 20 odd years and have just updated my Alaska 500 to a new Pilothouse 640, 22 ft of fishing luxury. I take delivery on 2nd Feb.
My biggest problem is finding fellow anglers that can get out at short notice, I have my own business so it is easy for me!
I generally fish from Rye or Newhaven, occasionally Herne Bay where I am a member of HBAA. The majority of my trips are wrecking for Pollack, Bass, Cod or Conger and I have a fair few wrecks stored in my plotter now. Update: 4-2-06: I did have a load of wrecks, but my plotter did a total reset when I set it up in the new boat, and I have lost the lot,Aaaaaarghhhh! I would be interested in fishing some other types of marks for other fish if anyone wants to come out and show me where they are and how to fish them!
I am really interested in taking the boat over to Alderney at the beginning of May and September from Poole and will be looking for 3 or 4 others to come for 3-4 days, sharing all costs.
Anyone interested in coming out for a days fishing or the Alderney trip or just a chat about boat fishing either reply or call me on 07717 722804.

Hello my friend, I am amazed that you can't find folk to go out with you and I wish I lived nearer to you as I love to get out on the high seas "at the drop of a hat". Being semi-retired I also can go almost any time and fortunately I have a mate who lives on this island with a boat so I get out there fairly regularly. I presume that you have put a post in the south coast boat fishing section? (I haven't looked but that could pull in a couple of guys) I note that you know of a fair few wrecks but have you got some reefs and rough ground noted as well? - In this neck of the woods, we have a good time in the summer taking bream over certain reefs and their are 2/3 rough ground patches where tope and cod hang around.
Best wishes  |

I know of a few rough ground marks but rarely are they productive. I have not found any reefs up this way (I dont think there are any!). I have advertised in Sea Angler magazine for fishing buddies and got a few but still often have problems. I only needed 1 person with my old boat but now can take up to 6 so it will probably be even more of a problem now!
Drop me an email with some contact details for yourself and if i get out your way I will give you a call.
