I can't help with your enquiry but would like to pose my own.
I will be staying in Fowey itself next week and would appreciate any tips or marks in and around Fowey

Cheers

P.S new to the forum and have enjoyed some good tips already
I will post any success when I get back

Its 5 years since i last fished fowey estuary but here goes.

1.Polruan castle seaward of polruan is good for wrasse ,pollack, macks, gars get there early or late not much room and gets crowded in the day.Possible strap conger & dogs at night.

2. Pont pil where the yacnts moor for flounder, bass.eel, mullet and gar ,walk around the beach past polruan boatyard, can dig rag here too.

3.Boddenick ferry, off the rocks topside of car park bass, flounder, eel,and mullet , you could dig good rag in the gravel between the rocks.

4.Town quay ,albert quay, polruan quay small pollack on rag & float at night , good wrasse on bottom early and late.

5. fowey sea pool, small pollack on gills, jellys and some good mullet to watch.

fishing tails off when the boat traffic picks up so get out at first light if poss , self drive boats were available . best of luck.......sniggle

Much Obliged! I will let you know how I get on in about 2 weeks time.
I have already booked a trip aboard the Red Admiral (only angling boat that appears to sail form Fowey).
I have also been told that the harbour wall at Par docks is good. Apparently you need a permit and they are simple to get hold of, but I don't know where to get one from. The port officce would be a good start.

Cheers again

Just to the East of Polruan is Pencarrow Head, Lantic Bay and Lantivet Bay.

There is a National trust Car park on the coast road and then footpths to all three places. About a 20 min walk. The paths are very steep at the end and the walk back up seems to take forever.

Lantic bay is shingle and shelves very steeply. Even a 40 yard cast will put you in 25ft+ of water. Been there twice in last week and caught a mackerel and 3 small pollacks.

Apparenly this is best fished after a storm.

Hope this helps. Check Google, search for Polruan, then satelite the map for clearer view.

Good luck and tight lines.

I lived in Polruan for 4 years , The Block house or know as Castle is crap. Dont even waste your time down there unless you are a tourist and after mackerel, doggies, gar and small pollack!

Best bet is to go over to first park! rocks which is over the hill from polruan... Its about a 3 min walk from castle. It puts you into some deep water as it is out of the esturay mouth, Ive had loads of good sized stuff off there. If you need help on fishing areas. Pop into my shop. PM me for location details.

PS Kev who owns the Red Admrial is a top bloke, you should have a good trip!
