High tide 9.30pm 3.5 tide, maybe not the best tide to fish but I wanted to try the glow sticks. I set up the fishing gear about 8.15pm and sellotaped an 8”glow stick to the rod tip and then another one to a two hook flapper. As I stated in my last post the idea was to see how good an indication of direction of the flight of lead when casting into the night. Well, Seasurfer’s tip works a wonder. No more squinting at the rod tip, it glows like Southend illuminations. As for casting into the night, that too gave a good indication of direction before the lead hit the water, so less chance of an over run with the multiplier.
Catching fish is another matter; to be honest I didn’t get one bite, I only had squid and to-night the buggers didn’t want to know, and to top it all it started to rain. I ain’t into rain! So 10.30pm one soggy person packed up and went home. |
