Hi Guys
Im about to try the new (d-vice ) fishing tool on Saturday. has anyone tryed one before if you've never seen one google the words ( d-vice fishing tackle) to view one.
The DVice is a hookbait delivery capsule specifically designed to send delicate baits, long distances. It is also useful for streamlining larger, bulky baits which proves particularly useful when the key to good fish is distance.
I am trying 130g and 150g. they are expensive when it forms part of the led weight compared with the price of normal leds ill keep you posted on how it performs as its just a trial for me.

i didn't use the d-vice till high tide when i tryed the 130gr. after modifying one of the rigs to fit the bait in the d-vice i cast out which i thought was excellent a streamlined cast which must have added to distance. after drawing a blank it didn't help my trial whith the d-vice. my only problem was with twisted lines after pulling in i will mod the rig again and try next time.
My first impressions with the d-vice are good with the bait in tact and in the same position i hooked it before casting, will wait to try again on the next tide with i hope better results .
1st trial mark out of 10 would be a 5

I have the 130g one's, With my first ever cast with one I had a doggie, but thats just about all you get off Chesil, Anyway I think they are good but in mid cast my bait seems to comes out of the pob.
Next time im going to try a running ledger rig with one, would be nice to get a ledger rig out as far as I can cast.
Out of 10 for me at the mo 5/10 |

hi dizzy
A running ledger should work fine mate but on the video i watched they only used a one hook rig not many if anybody uses les then two hooks i tryed with a pennal and what they say is it should work with any rig you use i put a baby squid on one and lug on the other which filled up the pod but also tryed lug on each hook and seemed to work fine but as i said the twisted lines for me is the only problem so far and i carnt see any other way around it unless someone comes up with an idea.
Not been able to get out since my last trial but hope to give it a go before xmas.

They cast exceptionally well - thats the whole point of them!!! And no other way to get a whole squid out a long way without a lot of faffing about.
For those that are having their bait come out mid cast there are a few reasons why this might happen.
The trace should be long enough that the hook is AT LEAST two inches below the very bottom of the DVice - any shorter and the stretch of the rig during the cast pulls the bait either part way up the tube (and wind resistance finishes the job off during the cast) or the bait comes out just as you release.
If the bait is fairly small ie sits loose in the tube - you'll need a plug of some kind pushed in on top of the bait to stop itbeing drawn out of the tube by wind resistance on the trace. A bit of seaweed off the beach will often do the job, but if you are going to be using small baits regularly white bread is a favourite. A little hint here - I know a man who is working on this problem and might have come up with something to fix this
The other main reason is if you have a lot of slack trace to catch the wind as you cast - coil up any loose trace round your finger and stuff it in the DVice with your bait, it will release with the bait when it hits the water.
Maybe some of the above might help those having problems out - the other thing to look at is your casting style - if your casting is not as smooth as it could be that often causes problems. |

hi mate
Thanks for the reply post i agree there are really good for getting bait out but if the trace is as long as you say it should be and you are running a rig with two hooks how is it possible to stop the trace from twisting when you pull in ?
