Ok the title is a bit decieving but i got myself a nice 4.5lb bass on sunday ! Used a flying condom with red/black bucktail feathers instead of the red tube.
Went to a shop and got the fly tying material and converted the normal fc.
Im gonna have a go at making my own lures/ spinners after speaking to a guy in dorset.
Who says you cant lure fish in the winter ????????? |

Well done Ric, glad to see you are doing well in the new form of our great sport.
Why not make your own lures, theres nothing in the rules to say you can't, so I wish you all the best with that venture.
Just got a mail from shorty, inviting me for a day out at Oxwich next Saturday, so I'm going to try to make that a date, he's also taking his young nephew (well done).
Maybe if you find yourself at a loose end, perhaps you could pop down, bring a rod & lures too !!!
We'll be meeting up at 8am and fish till around 4pm.
Catch you later mate,
Regards Micky. |

Cheers guys.
Mickey, I am going to make my own bucktail lures. I think it could be a good laugh.
Unfortunately next saturday i will be going for the pike again after having another 3 last weekend. 2 small uns and a nice tailwalking 5lber jack.
Ive had some people comment on me using the wrong gear ( i use 9 and 10 foot spinners for spinning, plugs and lures) but im catching fish so i guess its the same as every other part of the sport, there are plenty of tackle tarts. |

I think they are all reading too many books !!
If you don't use what the book says, "it's not right".
As you say, if you're catching, you must be doing something right.
Take no notice of 'em mate, they're just jealous, you go for it your own way and let THEM have the rod debate. |

| yeah, ive just been told i have to have different rods to jig plastic lures and other rods for other things. The whole point of fishing lures is to go light and cover lots of ground. Harder with a rodbag, rucksack etc etc ! |
