| Hi everyone , I have just got back into fishing , after some years away, I tried to buy some peeler crab for the weekend, but none left , but the lads at the tackle shop told me to try this crab slab that they reckon is called the secret bait and is fantastic for cod, It cost £24 but is a good size , I was also told to adapt a fresh water bait feeder that sits just above your lead sinker , and to fill this with the small bits and the juices from the crab for a slow release , and to tie the bigger bits on to the hook with elastic cotton, Its a bit of a chew on but I am ready to give it a go . Has anybody used this before , and got any tips on using it. |

A warm welcome to the forum mate. The short answer to your question is no as I have always stuck to the natural baits such as lug, rag and mackerel ect. I remember a new bait called gulp and that was actually designed to catch the angler and not the fish. Cheers keith |

The bait is called crab cart, made from edible crabs.
It works like any other bait, good on it's day.
By all means keep some in your arsenal, but, don't rely on it to catch every time.
You could be fishing cart, and the fish are feeding on mussel, so, keep your options open.

You would be better off with a packet of crab sticks from ASDA , you most likely wont catch anything but its a cheaper way to blank

Loads of these fad baits come out saying that its the best thing to use, unfortunately these things fizzle out soon enough and then its on to the next great discovery |
