My first fishing trip THANKS

Just thought i'd say I has my first outing yesterday. Fished from 3pm till 10pm down Stokes bay area. Caught a sack full of whitting of which I took 2 big ones home which I intend to cook tonight!!.

My dad left me a truck load of gear and although I didn't really know what I was doing my friend guided me in the right direction and I can honestly say that the first time I reeled a fish in I was like a little kid at xmas. I can see why my dad liked it so much. There were 2 lads fishing next to us and they were ever so helpful and friendly. They gave me lots of good tips and even a warm cup of tea which was needed. I often thought that fishing was a lonely pastime but those lads showed me that fishing is a good way to meet new friends and have a good noght out.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the mesages I recieved re my dads kit. I probably will sell his Zippy and Daiwa AWT 13m as the rods I used served me well. I have no need for 12 Beach casters.!!

I've also found a really old rod made from cane with a cork handle. Just wondered if antique rods are worth anything.

Roll on my next trip.
