Hi Everyone,
As a "born again" angler (returned this year after a break of 30 years) with fairly minimal early experience, I'm looking for the advice / opinions from the experienced south-east regulars.
Given the rather wintery weather forecast for Saturday night, and force 6 - 8 NW winds, do you think its worth freezing me appendages off, on Deal beach, for four hours, or not? worried
In your experience do you think this will bring anything decent in range, or drive them further out?
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks, Spratman

Hi there mate new to this myself but from what i have been told the cold weather is an advantage to us anglers (anyone put me right if im wrong) The fish come into the shallow waters to feed and with the weather being a bit rough it brings up more food for the fish.

Hope this is of some help mate. There will be loads of other people that will give you tips on this site. big grin big grin

A crisp cold frosty night will not have an adverse affect on fishing, nor will a good strong wind; however, the predicted NW wind may have. I have fished Deal many times and it always fishes best when the wind is coming from the S or SW. Easterly and Northerly winds tend to dramatically reduce the numbers of feeding fish in this area. Of course, it would still be possible to catch fish but the fishing would be 'very patchy' at best.
Nevertheless, if you do decide to go, wrap-up warm, take an ample supply of hot drinks (black coffee and/or tomato soup are good) and the very best of British luck.
Tight Lines.
