Dunno about the MPS version but I`ve got a 3 piece 12ft Tidewater beachcaster , basicaly it does what it says on the tin . It`s never going to shatter any casting records but it`s caught me a good few fish . I wouldn`t fancy giving it some welley with the full 8ozs and bait though but it casts well enough (60/70) yds with a 5 oz gripper and a couple of lug .
The 3 piece breakdown is great as it just fits across the boot of my car , so I`m never without a rod
If you dont expect to much from it it`s a decent bit of kit for less than £25.00 |

The MPS is a ok rod and will do what you have in mind no probs. One thing I've found is the tip ring lining will not take much abuse before it disappears(though that could be down me being a clumsy muppet).
There are probably better options out there, if you're willing to spend more cash but for 25 quid its a good pier rod.

| Thanks all may get one and use it myself. If it doesn't get too abused i'll keep it for one of my boys once they've grown a bit |
