Hey peeps, just wondering if anyone had any advice for the weekend... thinking of popping out on saturday am to catch the very early tide, looked at the wind charts and looks a little blustery but hoping to get something on the neap tide but i just can't decide between trying a few venues i've not really fished before! Mainly after a nice late bass and a few whiting... any ideas anyone?
Cheers

hello Pete
ive seen little boats fishing there but not moored up as far as i know your not allowed to anchor up but drifting is fine but be careful mate as im not 100% sure your be in about 70-80ft of water and you might see and few weights land nah your boat lol as beach anglers and short width of the river dont work well for you boaters .
takecare mate and remember a place on your boat for me oneday

anytime you fance a potter out mail me, i'm like a f**t in a collander most of the time and need a nudge, tides next week could be good to get off the pontoon during the day, dunno wot the weathers gonna be, cold I expect, lol lol

Cheers Gary - think i may give maggy lane a go then just to boost my chances after my last couple of blanks
Has anyone seen any bigger bass around the area? I'm tempted to give my little spinner a go around the rocky part... and whats the car parking situation like?

Dan i wouldnt be surprised mate if you do get a nice bass as for parking mate i park in front of the flats and walk down the cutway and brings you out at the beach part but some people perfer to park at the top end near the mariner.

1 tip for maggy lane: Reel in as quick as you can! It will slightly reduce your risk of getting a snag.

I took my boat to maggy lane last sunday, I can say the fishing was no better than fishing from the wall/shore.
I even took the boat over to the other side where the ships tie up and got zero bites.
Guess it goes to prove that deep water doesn't mean plenty of fish, the fish hang out where there is food and the fish must be hanging closer to the drop off shelf or rocks/beach.
(took me forever to pull up the anchor, sure is deep)
