| Hi, my suggestion given the wind direction etc, would be Paull carpark. which is on the Humber, and is supposed to be good for cod when conditions are right. The wind at the weekend is N/NW which would put the wind behind you helping with the casting. plus you can fish from your car, a bonus given the temps expected. Tightlines...Mick |

well im going to Brid with Ace of Spads. My missus is glad to see the back of me and has taken out extra insurance.... she always looks on the bright side.
We are both in Sheffield so its not too far for him to drive... cos he is a tiny bit younger than me. |

SEAHAM
We have a busy weekend lined up, a sea angling roadshow filled with top tackle people, international anglers, exhibitions of casting, rig making, all the manufacturers will be there with rods reels tackle etc. all this will be
mostly indoors, at the superb Seaham Sea Angling Club Headquarters'
This is all on Saturday, on Sunday the Seaham Open, top prize £1000, prize table of £5000+
Where to go? silly question
SEAHAM, both days of course!!!!!!
Whatever the weather two great days this weekend

Well me and Spadulike went to Brid, had about 4 hours on the South Pier, about 1/2 way down (where the large concrete tank is). Got there for 9.10pm and stuck it out until 1.15 when the snow stated to get heavy.
Between us we had a fantastic catch, to say we are novices.
I had 3 dabs, 2 or 3 small whiting, a codling and a rockling, not to mention a small crab.
Spadulike (when he wasnt catching my lines) had a better haul with 2 or 3 codling, numerous whiting and dabs.
The conditions were nothing like what I was expecting. No waves coming over the wall and a bit of a stiff wind over the right shoulder, not the crashing surf or the gales I was expecting.
Most of the catch was on squid, we started off using black lug but only when we started using the squid did we catch anything. I used a Gemini 2 hook flapper with size 1 hooks.
We enjoyed it so much I cant wait for the next trip, hopefully with a better tide so I dont miss too much bedtime. |
