Just got back. Off boat club jetty - 3 lots of tackle for you to hunt for (or get snagged on like I did). Moved to between bridges slipway - 4 whiting, 2 Bass. All on the hour before high (helped by a ship churning up the bed). Got home and the wife had smoked haddock ready for me - obviously not very optimistic - so its Bass for dinner tomorrow.

Hi there mate sounds like an alright session shame you lost some rigs i hate it when that happens. I cant wait to get down there at the weekend. Going for the whole day and most of the night, probably get home early hours of sunday morning. We have lost plenty of tackle around the bridge Especially the pontoon side its because of the first ever bridge that was built at the crossing, well thats what i was told. No as i said will be there at the weekend. One quick one mate what bait were you using at the bridge.

Took lug and squid. used a 2 hook rig, one on lug/suid, one on lug alone. 5/6 were caught on lug only. Lug was dungie black lug which I got from kent Angling in Maidstone - told they were fresh but when i opened them i decided he must have got the year wrong as they were well past their sell by date - dead and dried (be seeing him tomorrow!)
I usually get my lug from Sittingbourne, forget the name of the shop - its the sister shop to the one near the station in Rainham. Lug there is only about £4 a score, always fresh and some of the biggest most juicy worms I have ever used. Think if I had them tonight | would have jaws himself.

Hi there mate yeah all i will be using is lug and squid The lug is from the Anglers den in Gillingham. Cant remember the price but we bought 4 2 hook rigs 2 4oz plain leads and a score of lug oh and a couple of lures. All in all it came to 16 quid odd. Ive always found that lug is expensive but a mans got to do what a mans got to do. big grin big grin

Tide was neap today but still running fast, I used a 6oz and needed it. About time you started making your own rigs - saves a lot of money and is far more fun and satisfying.
Did not weigh the Bass, one was just over the legal limit (I always measure if necessary, considered putting him back but he had taken the hook down). The other (again not weighed) is quite a reasonable meal for one (the wife would not want fish two days running so suppose I will have to eat it - ah!)
