hoping to fish scarborogh pier on sunday night/monday morning, ive not fished here before so could do with some help.
we will be fishing the part behind the funfair.

can you park near the pier?
does the pier get locked at night?
can you fish it at low water/does the tide come right up to the wall?
is it a high wall to fish from?
is it sandy or snaggy?

if ive missed anything please let me know.

my thanks in advance

matt

hi ,fished it a couple of weeks ago on end of pier ,answers to some of your questions, you cant park on pier now ,we got moved off ,warden says harbour master a bit powermad and will shut you in ,we fished 2 hours before and 2 hours after high tide ,not a fish till about 1 hour after high tide as was getting dark ,had 7 whiting and couple of crabs ,mate had nowt but plenty bites ,other lad had a whiting and a dab , i caught all mine on mackeral strips.if you fish behind cafe its fishing of boulders ,they were catching codling from here .you might loose a bit of gear from here, didnt loose any from end of pier ,parking anywhere on road in bays but only 3 hour stay i think,a bit up from fair i think all day but no idea of price .other local lads might be able to help more than me as not fished it much ,but hope it helps you ,

ian

fished the pier on numerus ocasions, parking on marine drive is free after 6pm only short walk to pier, behind cafe is godd for codling but very triky to fish, fish of large flat rocks needs a good cast about 100yds to miss snags pully rigg is the best to use, fresh or frozen peeler crab is top bait, can be dangerus spot to fish at night if you have not fished there before, anymore info pm me cheers ian.
