Hi all went on a bit of a fact finding mission today, as it was nice the tide was out and we could see all of the weed and other obsticles we will have to steer clear of. found a few bits aswell. Tried a bait search but didnt find much. I was itching to throw a rod out but what was the point. Came home and started playing about with making my own rigs out of the ones i found waste not want not. big grin big grin

I must back up what the Guvna is saying, I am new to this sea fishing game although I have fished for carp for 30years and still do but my mates sea fish, so I have started to tag along when I have not got the time or inclination to get round to the colne valley chasing large carp. I look at the sea like a big lake, fish come into the margins on lakes but at night bigger fish will come in to feed under the cover of darkness and thats when its best sea fishing too, every day trip I have done is a struggle and you end up fishing small baits just to try to get a bite, at night its a diffent story 99% of the time you are at it baiting, casting and unhooking loads of fish of diffrent types 5hours later you dont know where the times gone. big grin

Hi all thinking it might be a good idea to keep a diary of the kingsferry bridge marks. From what i have noticed there have been some good fish caught round there. Might just be me but i get a buzz when istand on the side look to the water and know whats down there lurking snags and thespots that fish will most likly lay for food to come past. Well that is my plan just hope it all works out for us. cool cool

As a general rule, the fish like murkey water, a bit of a chop to it and most importantly, they prefere to eat as it gets dark and usually on a rising tide. Go to a coast line (as opposed to the Swale/Medway) and you can add an on shore wind to this. Daytime is a lovely time to sit and fish but catches will never equal evenings/night - depends whether you are going for the peace and quiet with a fish as a bonus or if you need to catch to eat!. So the ideal time is on a good rising high tide, as it gets dark, with an on shore wind and after a storm. Now for all those who are thinking "Ah but ....." there are always exceptions and long may it be so.
PS - the right rig and bait helps to!

Hi all thanks for the info mate. It will help loads. For bait we use lug worm and squid that it havvent tried alot of others but this seems to work. We are down there this saturday are we are going for the big one. Me and my mate chris fishing with 6 rods between us. Cast out to the middle part of the bridge with some weight on a 2 hook flapper rig, towards the boats with a float and as always play about with the lure under the first 2 sections of the bridge. Not too sure w2hat side we will be fishing yet might try them all around the bridge and up towards the dock. Will let you know of the outcome. big grin big grin
