Hi all. Late report for Friday sess..
Fished 6pm to midnight. First time was very busy fishing from the pier. Fish started biting straight after sunset (beautifull sight ). Didn’t even have a chance to sit down and have my coffee. Loads of whiting, pouting and codling. Kept a couple of very good size codling but also as they put up a good fight . Was very tired by the end of it but much worth it. Definitely better than day fishing and also you don't have people asking you all times 'any luck yet???'. peace of mind |

Sounds a good session.
By contrast Saturday 11 October morning pre and post high tide was poor - 1 small pout was all to show. Fished the right hand end by the lifebelt and was plagued by crabs - has anyone tried rigs with floating beads to keep bait just off bottom? Alot of the colour had gone from the water (compared to last Saturday) and it was also fairly calm for a change - hence fishing end rather than stem.
Looks like night fishing is the way to go if I can persuade my wife. |

Hope you are well Darren
Well bucko, After a nice well earned sleep, I am ready for another sess but I think I may do some streching first before start any casting
I have noticed, Chrisandrich, that night fishing on the pier or anywhere is much much better than day time.
Just the thought of being busy bringing fish gets me fired up and my other half just has to accept that ......well except changing the door locks when I am out night fishing ... |
