Hi we went to the island overnight Friday, just four of us. Froze our cods off, but between us we caught Cod to 8lbs, Bass up to 1 1/2lb, Dog fish to 2 ish pounds and loads of Whiting. Big squid and lug baits worked best for the cod.
We had frost on our gear in the morning though.

| Sounds like a cold and eventfull night......just another question is it possible to drive over there in a landrover/jeep...or do ya get ferry and hike down to the beach...whats the best spot to fish ?? |

I'M OFF TO ORFORDNESS FOR THE WEEKEND (SATURDAY MORN TO SUNDAY AFTERNOON) MY MATE IS GOOD FRIENDS WITH PETER (THE GUY ON THE FERRY) AND HE SAYS IT'S ALL GOOD FISHING AT THE MINUTE - WELL I'D RATHER FISH ORFORD ANYTIME OVER YARMOUTH OR GORLESTON - HOPING TO CATCH A MONSTER - WILL REPORT BACK WITH INFO ON MONDAY - GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING |

| hi beavesuk and anyone else interested, i will be going to orford on the 13th oct and have just put a post on the forum. just incase anyone wants to go but doesnt want to sit on their own on the spit. take care people. |

hi does the ferry guy operate every day and how often does he make the trip across any info or even a contact number for him would be appreciated. fished aldeboro thorpeness southwold loads last year but want to hit orford shingle on some mid week sessions, any tips or marks to aim for again apprciated.
