Never, but never, sit in a kayak until it's floating in the water. |

Most sit-on-top kayaks can be used for fishing. Some are custom made with rod holders and stuff, but it's easy to fit out a kayak for fishing.
I fitted mine out myself.
Go for it, you will really enjoy the freedom, the only thing is the weather restricts your fishing more, but then you can go beach fishing if it's too rough. |

sit on, unless you can roll ( in a sit in kayak to get the boat up from a capsize you need to be able to roll and if you can't roll you will fall out the boat and when you get it up will be full off water and wont be paddle-able where as sit on top you can flip the boat up right with your hands and the water will just drain off. Also much more space to store equitment on a sit on, pluss more stable |
