Thinking of going to whitehaven for the first time on Tuesday 7th October. Does anyone fancy joining me and sharing petrol costs?

Hi John, welcome back. How was your holiday, did you catch many fish?

Just a tip lads, most of the locals are float fishing and spinning at Whitehaven and with some sucess. They are using very light tackle. At the moment ledgering will catch but not nearly as good as the locals are doing. Cheers keith big grin big grin

Keith, what are the locals catching? If we use floats, what bait shall we use? and are you suggesting that we should'nt bother ledgering? Thanks. big grin big grin

No ledgering will catch but there were mackerel caught on the float and by spinning. Lug and mackerel seem to be the order of the day. The only thing that saved me from blanking was a flaming weaver! lol crying crying crying
