Well said daiwa. We were so disgusted by the mess last time we went down that we havn't bothered to go since. Frankly, we've stopped going to a lot of the local haunts 'cos we're fed up of meeting numpty's who leave crap, set up so close that they cross your lines all the time and insist on being on their flaming mobiles for the duration. I go to get away from the rat race not run into it! |

Can I just second that motion Duncbooth, I do like to put a fair bit distance between me and the ever annoying "Joe Public" they are a messy and noisey mob at times, I like to go where it feels like no-one has been before....bit difficult these days :? |

try east lane near bawdsey- you definitely get that feeling there- incidentally does anyone know what the big concrete structure is just set back from the sea defences are- the metal bars on the open windows have Prisoners of War welded to them? |

How do you weld prisoners of war to an iron bar? Don't they start to smell after a while? lol |

Sorry 'bout that! Have never fished bawdsy but we're making our way up the coast there. Hopefully we'll get there before the end of the year. Do you reckon it would be a good cod venue? |

Problem is daiwa, I doubt that the scumbags who dump the stuff would bother to use a site like this one. I've found everyone on here to be helpful people, eager to pass on whatever help they can to others. Does that sound like the people who can't be bothered to clean up after themselves? |

Daiwa, WELL DONE !!!! I too have done this, I also like to be seen doing this, so maybe some of the people responsible can see its getting picked up by another angler and not "keeping someone in a job" . dirty filthy b******s!!!. Some of the local fishing spots (around rivers) here are just a tangle of beer cans, fishing line and bait tubs....sad and gives everyone in fishing a bad name. Does anyone take a polythene bag fishing???? usually to pop fish in....I now take one to pop other peoples litter in!!!!! no joke I come home with no-fish and a bag of rubbish. 8O |

belive me the scum bags do use this site and look at the posts, when i cought my codling over there the word was going about like wild fire, all the tackle shops spoke about it, and even people were coming over to me when i was there and saying someone cought a codling over here,it was on the internet, and belive it or not that was the people that left all the mess there,
as for southend peir, if sea anglers keep leaving mess there and gutting bait on the seats, there wont be fishing allowed on it,that is the word going about, by people that work there, and the board is having a meeting with southend council, next month.and remamber what ever you do you are on camera, so this people will be picked out and baned for good, |

Well, lets hope that those that do litter and read this are shamed into doing something about it. Like you and badger, we also clean up at the end of a session irrespective of whether it's our rubbish or not. I've said it before on this site and I'll keep saying it; If we each pick up just one bit of someone elses litter, it will 1) send a clear message to the litterers 2) make the beaches much cleaner all round.
Rant over. I thank you |
