Hi, I fish puddles (as you sea fisherman so put it). So when it comes to sea fishing marks in the North East I am at a loss.
The reason for this brief intro is because my father is coming up from essex and he's heard somewhere that its good for seafishing in the North East. I have no idea where to take him as like I said before I dont fish the sea.
Could someone please explain good sea fishing marks in the North East. Maps and directions would probably be benifitial as I am not to familiar with the area.
Oh and btw I am from Cramlington Northumberland, so marks in hartlepool probably wouldnt be ideal if you know what I mean. |

Here come those questions I was talking about :p.
Right, I am going to cresswell this weekend on the suggestion of the above forum member. What I am now interested in is what time is best to go and what bait to use. If its spinning that I need to do what kind do I need etc. More to the point what kind of fishing is it? I think my dad is keen on beach casting, is that any good down there?
Any info would be very helpful as I will need to go to the fishing tackle shop tomorrow in preperation.
In addition what is the best way to spin? depth and what rotation/jerk?
This Sea fishing business is rather daunting...........its so vast!!! |

hi mate, cresswell has a few marks to fish,if you intend fishing a beach, best park outside golden sands caravan park (on the main sea front approx 1/4 mile from ice cream parlour) walk down the stairs and fish directly in front of the stairs,it is a tackle graveyard so be warned, best baits,(assuming you have no peeler crab) mussel, squid, razor fish, macky and lug worm, best rig to use would be a pulley rig or a pennel pulley, best fished 3 hours either side of low water.
fish cresswell BEACH,not the carrs (rocky skeers) for flattys, odd bass and codling, same baits apply but use 2 or 3 hook flappers, best fished 2 hours either side of high water, spinning, you can use any lure, best spinned slowly with a jerky movement,
or the houses to the south side of the ice cream parlour you can spin, float or bottom fish from, best fished 3 hrs either side of high water
hope this helps mate |

or try lyneburn, thats where ste stream comes down the middle of lynemouth beach, quite a good mark for bass and codling, using a pulley rig and also a rotten bottom helps, you could also add a lead lift if ya want just to help minimise tackle loss |

We got there and the tide was right out. We fished it all the way up to high tide and didnt get anything utill about 1hr before high tide. Both my dad and I caught a flattie each. For me thats a sucess as its my first sea fish . I tried my hand at spinning those cursed rocks.....lost 3 spinners in the space of 5 mins and so gave that up lol.
I really liked it (I am very suprised), I think it would be nice to go with someone that has fished the mark before, so if anyone fancies it? |

When ever is convenient for you as I recently got made redundant from a large local bank...No names mentioned . It makes me rather flexible to be honest. Plus I am married so I am not allowed to the pub anymore or socalise with my mate LOL.
Na seriously, just mention a time and I will work round you mate. |
