Well i am a newbie to this site and a newbie to fishing.
Live in Blyth on the North East coast so plenty of sites around just a case of learning.
First trip out to the local jetty for a bit of practise resulted in me snapping my new Ron Thompson rod when i tripped. love struck
Not good, since bought a replacement and a cheapie compo set .

Welcome to the site mate. This is an excellent way of finding out about fishing methods, spots (some people will share this), baits rigs etc. My mate (Medlar) fishes your neck of the woods fairly regularly and will no doubt give you some pointers. Both of us and another Lad (rjezuz) are planning a trip up your way shortly, I've got no doubt the lads would welcome you along. We are all fairly competant fishermen (well we think we are anyway) and are more than happy to share our knowledge. I just wish there was something like this when I first started to go out. Try and join the site properly and give yourself some identity. I actually have a Ron Thompson and love the rod. It is very light, flexible, throws a weight some distance although can be a little lightweight in strong winds.
