Had a nice 2lb bass last night off the rocks at devils. Also saw rockling and 2 doggies caught by a few lads off the bottom on the platforms.

Bass was caught on floated mackeral between to stems of rock, had bites on this set up for a few hours before high tide then the bites stopped.

I'd like to get some larger pollock, whats best to attract pollock?? i believe that the rocks off of devils will produce but not sure what on. Dont really want to use ragworm as lose a lot of time and bait to wrasse.

You can get a small prawn trap in most good tackle shops. I know Trader Jacks, Near Morrisons on outland Road, are sellling them as I was there yesterday.

Bait with manky mackerel and drop over the platform at Devils, keep it of the bottom or you will end up catching crabs and you should catch a few worth sticking on a hook!

For live sandeels, not sure of any good spots round here but the tackle shop in Victoria Road, St Beaudeau sell them. I believe they cost a quid for 10. You may need to invest in a cheap battery operated pump, available from aquatic stores, to keep both the prawns and eels alive for a while.

Good luck and tight lines.

I bought a prawn trap last month and all i got with it was small wrasse,
Ill give it another go though.

The one i had broke as it got cought up when bringing back up at devils.

How long will they live for without a pump etc, I dont drive, so i pretty much get my bait the same day as i fish unless it can be frozen.
