Can anyone please tell me the difference between mono and fluorocarbon and also can fluorocarbon be used as main line or is it better used for rig making.

The main difference is that flourocarbon has a refractive index similar to water, so is virtually invisible in the sea. Flouro tends to be stiffer with better abrasion resistance too and sinks more readily. Given that pure flourocarbon (as opposed to nylon coated with flourocarbon) can be quite expensive, I'd stick with nylon for your mainline. |

Hi night-fisher, flourocarbon is best used for your snoods. |
