Hi all are these types of crab any good as bait as my local lidl store is selling frozen packs of them whole. But thought that I would get someone elses view on this type of crab before I spend my money on something as bait which turns out to be totally useless.......Colin confused confused confused confused confused confused confused

Hi colin big grin
Never used them myself,I buy soft shell crabs fron the chinese supermarket(frozen).These are caught in the pacific suprise
I`ve used them on occassions and caught large flounders,nothing other than that to date crying crying
Will keep trying though big grin lakey had a flattie using them when we fished weybourne and a few of us will be using them at cart gap on sunday
Will let you know how we go,watch for reports big grin

if they are the ones i saw in my local lidlls
they are cooked

so i dont think they are any good

but who are we to say

i never thought i would catch on raw prawns and have had some good flatties on them also some other guys on this site have had bass on prawn

get some, give it a go and if not have crab for tea

i remember reading in a sea angler mag once that edible crab, or velvet swimming crab are the bees knees for bass etc, but as long as they are used raw and not cooked?? confused confused big grin
