Hi all my first post on this site,
Looking to fish the somewhere on the gower, low tide on thursday, and I'm taking my father, who hasn't fished for years (he's fairly fit). What location do you folks recommend?
Normally I'd opt for a bit of plugging on Overton mere, but perhaps it would be more easy and fun to get the beachcasters out on three cliffs or Caswell. |

I think I'll plump for Caswell as the missus is coming along (and she can be left to her own devices with a spinner), I've never caught a fish at Caswell although I normally fish the high tide from the rocks on the left. |

Fishing report - Went to Caswell on Thurs (22nd) with my mate in the end. We fished on the far right hand side, 2 hours before low and 3 back in. Baits used were Peeler (Found a couple of sneaky ones in the rockpools on that side) Lug, Mackeral, Squid, and one razor that was lingering in my freezer. End result was a fantastic double blank between us.
The Lugs we bought from Mainwairings were terrible quality and expensive, had loads left over and they are near dead already. I've grown to dislike this store, Basstastic and the new place in Llansamlett are much better suppliers IMHO.
Did we fish on the wrong spot, or was the timing wrong? All bait was left untouched. I do fancy the low on Pobbles for next time, I don't mind the walk and if I blank at least we are on one of the pretiest beaches in the world! |

mainwarings conned me as well with his half dead lug, i found the rag at the pier great value in contrast. |

Basstastic is a small shop by Mumbles Pier. I'd like to join you all next saturday but unfortunately I'm working nights (I work in a casino in town). I'll Probably leave Pobbles till early June or when the wind decides to turn! |
