Well that's it I've lost my Weybourne virginity ! Fished it 3 hours before high tide and 5 after. The 1 before and two after were the most productive. 3 Plaice, 4 Dabs, 2 Whiting, 5 Pouting and christ knows how many bloody starfish. Lots of bites that I lost and the starfish eat your bait contiinually so you're topping up every 10 minutes. Leaping up and down that shingle ridge certainly keeps you fit. Thanks Shannock I quite enjoyed that mark, I'm now going to cover myself in sunburn cream !!!

Hi Steve
Have a look at www.fishing.thesiliconworkshop.com and check the photos and you'll see where I parked up. It was a really tough day as I had a couple of hotties sunbathing topless 30 odd yards away from me, what's a boy supposed to do under those conditions. ! Yeah, no bassies I'm afraid, perhaps they get worried by bare breasts? ! I must admit to wondering whether you can eat starfish, perhaps somebody reading this can let me know - coz they weren't tiddlers either. As to fishing Cromer Pier, I reckon you're better at Weybourne. All the holly wallies more or less rule out serious fishing from there in the day, but evenings are still good if you pick your tides right. Anyway there's a no tide situation at Gorleston next Wednesday about 5pm so with that and reports of 6lb Shirlies, guess where I'm going next ! I'll be taking piccies as I visit these marks so I'll update the guide as I go round. Enjoy Sunday matey,
Neil

That's strange, I was thinking the other day of getting a bait pump. How do you get on with them and where do you go for your worm? Talking of boring questions how about the following - "Had any luck yet mate, caught anything yet mate, what are you trying to catch, what fish do you catch round here. Question 3 normally evokes the reply "fish". Why is it that so many people feel the compulsion to come up and talk to you when you're fishing, it's like you're public property. I wouldn't mind so much if good looking ladies came up and talked to me !!! Have a good session....

i think people see you sat there on your own and feel sorry for you with no company
but i love being on me own at times just sat there looking at y rod tips or the sunbathers lol

as for bait pump i love it especialy where the sand is wet , on the beach at sheringham there is a water outlet which the stream from the woods runs onto the beach
it would be impossible to dig there as it would fill up quicker than you can dig so that area is left alone ,apart from me
its so easy pumping in wet sand i went today for 90mins and pumped 50 big juicy yellow tails
would cost 10 pounds in the shop
the pump cost 40 pounds but has saved me hundreds

Hi
Narr, I think they're just nosey ! I do wonder what would happen if I wondered up to somebody sunbathing and said "have you got a tan yet mate ?" The second word would be probably be off!

You ever have problems with dogs, the four legged variety I mean. I've been bitten, had my bait and lunch eaten, and then the bloody owners get grumpy with you when you push them away, and how much notice do they take of the May to September ban. ?

Anyway I think I might be getting one of those pumps. I saw them in use on I-fish on discovery channel and they looked quite cool. Probably better for my back than a fork!

All the best, Neil

a few years ago coarse fishing i heard a noise on my bivvy , i looked out to find a rotweiller peeing on it , we exchanged glances and i just said carry good boy

at weybourne there are so many dogs wandering around they just come up try to nick your bait and pee on your rods and some owners dont give a damn ,most of them a very good apologising and clearing up behind them good luck with the pump

cheers steve

Steve

Just ordered one of those pumpy things off e-bay - £35 , which I thought was quite fair. Any chance of some pointers as to how to find those little wormies. High tide / Low tide ? Looking for casts / holes ? Best spots to look etc.

Cheers Matey
