Hi all, just starting out beach fishing with baits. I was looking for a rig that is easy to cast 100m at least and can carry a slab of fish on either two 7/0 hooks or a gang of three 5/0s. The fish finder type looks good - any other ideas. Would the pulley rig work?

Thanks, Andrew.

I usually use a pennell rig for large fish baits and have a breakaway clip on the bottom for aerodynamics to help distance.you don't say what you are fishing for as those are big old hooks 8)
tight lines

Thanks mate!

Beach jewfish in Australia are the target. Can be caught to 60/70 pound or more. I'm aiming for 20-40 pounders.

Thats not me in the picture!! The pennel rig is very similar to the rig we use here but the top hook is normally snelled to the mainline and stopped by the bottom hook so the distance between hooks can be adjusted. Cheers. Andrew

I would use an up and over rig as clips down for casting but when out in the sea gives you a nice long hook length.

thanks magictoys, I like the long trace on that rig. Cheers, Andrew.
