Hi there I read on a web page that you just put a knife through their eyes (www.allaboutangling.com) Ive not tried it yet as ive not had any crab... hope this helps. |

I saw the river cottage chap show how to kill a crab the other day. He pushed a skewer into the underbelly of the crab at the point of the v. Didn't quite understand why?
He then pushed the skewer in between the eyes and wiggled it around to scramble the brain. It was definitely dead then. |

If it is for bait, well, hardbacks work well alive with the hook through the arse end, quite tough for casting.
If it is for dinner, pulling off the pincers, then the legs, means you don't know if it is alive or not anyway. |
