Just ready to have my first go at beach fishing, infact any sea fishing. I will be giving it a go at Withernsea hopefully next weekend; can anybody suggest an easy rig/rigs to try and possible best baits? :?
Also been a bit of a novice maybe a check list of the basics I will need to take with me.

hello mate

nice to see you are taking up this great lark. i do not fish your area but for rigs i would say dont try anything to high tech. i would suggest a one or two hook rig. you should be able to buy these at your local tackle shop. these can be a little expensive. but as a starter can be very helpful. as time passes you can start to make your own rigs its a lot cheaper . as for bait again your ltackle shop should be able to point you in the right direction.

things you should take [ not taking the micky]

1. rod[s] reel[s] rod rest.
2. tackle . rigs waights hooks ect.
3. suitable clothing for the weather . [nothing worse than being soaking wet and cold whenfishing]
4. bait dont forget the bait.
5. food and a drink if your going over a longish period.

i hope this helps if i think of anything else i will post again. good luck when you go. keep looking on this site we all help each other and no quistion is a silly one .

Thanks for the advice (and I do need it), I have been coarse fishing for 40 years but have always wanted to give sea fishing a go. I will no doubt loose a few bits of tackle and bait on my first few attempts. Any way will report back any good news or if I make a prat of myself. Cheers.
