New member says Hi...

Hi Everyone. After reading the site for last couple of months I thought I should really join in, so here goes.. I am relatively new to sea fishing but have been a keen coarse angler for about 20 years. I caught the bass bug a couple of years ago fishing the ring of Kerry for bass on the plug and although I only managed a mullet, i saw a 9.5lb bass caught on a surface popper and that was enough to awaken my interest.

I have been fishing the Purbecks for bass over the last 12 months, and also the areas around Poole and Chichester harbour so if anyone out there knows any good marks they can share then I would really appreciate it. I also bought a beach caster and all the kit I thought I needed this year and am onyl 1 hr from Haylind Island, Pagham etc so will be out a few times during the year. So far only 1 small plaice and whiting to show for my efforts but I am sure that the best is yet to come. big grin

I hear that the bass will be around Hayling in numbers over the coming weeks so hoping to put a decent bend in the new rods soon.

Welcome to the site mate. Hope you get out of it as much as myself, they are not a bad bunch on here and will be only to glad to help you out whenever possible. Looking forward to hearing you catch reports Tight lines. Keith
