Ive been looking at getting the nipper a rod for a while and ive seen a Mitchell Laser 13ft rod that looked pretty good.It was reasonably light and seem quite stiff. For £44 in the sale its about the sort of money i wanted to spend, question is,is it any good??

I have one of them as a spare rod for my mates to fish with, the blank feels like twangy stick to me and is quite soft but this makes it easy for first time anglers to use and i wouldn't recomend casting the full 8oz on it(i use 4oz on it and it handles this well) as a first rod you could do a lot worse and it has good bite detection (unless the sea is in a bad mood)and has not broke even in the hands of some of the worst casters i have seen(some of my mates have never been fishing before)It is well finished and i have had it for over a year and it still looks like new(with a little tlc like washing it after every use and it has only had a tip ring as it got droped)
tight lines everyone
