My personal preference would be red ice line mainly for strength and good value for your money

I use my line for a season and then I wind the line back on the spool for the next season as the line underneath is brand new and has never touched the water. I might be a Rabbi but I am still a careful Christian |

Before i went to using braid, i used to use fox warrior main line in 15LB breakinng strain. I never had any problems with it. |

If you have ever been carp fishing, it's very similar to what they use to make their hook lengths. i use 20LB berkley whiplash pro, it's as thin as 3 to 4LB mono and got no stretch in it. you get less resistance from the wind and tide pull, with it being so thin and you also get better bite detection It is fairly expensive though at around £25 for 300 yards.

The lines that i would use are
suffix titanium in either 15 for light beach work,i.e shingle, sand
" "" 20lb for rock fishing,all in clear
Penn tuff stuff god all round line
diawa tournament 15lb god supple line casts well sits on the spools well
but the line im using at the moment and cant fault it is STREN in 17lb unbelievable line prob the best line that i have used so far.And it's cheap at £3.50 for 300 yrds the best thing about this line is it's so sharpe if someone cast over you and then you struck your rod you would cut that person's line.
ultima is also another good line to use as well but stren has my vote guy's
tight lines
