I've fished the breakwater a few times now, but blanked every time! What do you fish for there, and what baits do you use? |

wrass, mackrel, doggies and whiting. Ive fished there a few times during the summer and ocassionally in winter. Best bait lug tipped with mackrel. Fishing the outer wall tends to produce larger fish but you have to be prepeard to accept tackle losses due to the rocky outcrop, whereas the inner wall tends to be snag free. Plenty of shelter can be had from the archways built into the wall, wind, rain ect whilst still whatching your rod. You can drive your car right upto where you are fishing and shelter and whatch your tackle in that if the need arises. Hope this helps. Oh spinning for ack in summer near the beginning of the breakwater produces some nice sized fish. |
