hi every1, does any 1 know of any marks any whear in the south that has the same features as chesil beach, ie, steep shingle banks leading strait into deep water, and that ur always lightly 2 catch, with fairly easy acess, altho dont mind a bit of trecking. i don't mind traveling as i live over 100 miles away from chesil, and thats whear i mainly go fishing, any info would b of help, as i want 2 start exploring diffrent venues, many thanks in advance. sam.

Milford Shingle/Hurst Spit would be similar to Chesil. Haven't fished it for a long time, so I can't help with where the best spots are.

Lo Sam,

Would agree with MJB above fished Hurst Castle "The Hole" (The mark in front of the casle and lighthouse) a few weeks ago, the dates you mention should be ok as this is best fished on a neap tide due to tidal race.
I only pulled in small stuff but it is supposed to fish well. Brilliant scenery too felt as if you could touch the IOW (France) lol.
Mind you there is a mile and half walk to get there but it is along a shingle bank and you can fish all the way along if you like. You can park your car at New Lane and yomp from there but there is supposed to be a ferry too not sure about the details but sure it would be easy enough to find out if you wanted.
Hope this helps.
