Me and a mate fished Battery Point all day yesterday. High water was around 5.30pm coming in at 11.1. We got there at 12.30 and fished all the way up. To say it was cold would be an understatement - it was freezing - and i will tell you when the sun dipped it was biting.

Anyway fished with various baits and techniques - and all for 1 whiting of no size. There were a few rattles but nothing too serious. By 3pm there must had been around 10 people fishing along the entire point, most with 2 rods each. Cannot say we saw anyone catching - so it is just another example of a poor cod season.

Weed was a massive problem it claimed a lot and i do mean a lot of end tackle.

cheers

As I always say. One is better than none.
Not been able to get out for a while, but should be sorted soon.
Then maybe I can also have another poor session on the channel.

I just cannot believe how poor it is fishing - Layde does appear to be fishing a bit better then higher up the BC. Who knows perhaps there may be run soon but in all honestly back in Nov i had high hopes for a good season.

Cheers

It's been the same all around the UK. I think I'll give it a rest for a while and spend my time making traces and weights. It wasn't so long ago I was fed up catching mackrel and flounder, Oh for those days to return. I don't know if Iv'e mentioned it before but I get all my lead from the local tyre center. Saves climbing up on the Church roof big grin big grin big grin . At my age I would more than likely fall off anyhow.
