hi sandeel, im an east coaster but fish from a little village called bucks mills every year which is close to bideford. best local advice i came across was from the guys in the tackle shop in westward ho just down the road. they gave me good advice on bait and species. dont bother with the tackle shop in bideford tho the geezer is a twat. he told me that mackerel didnt go well as bait in the middle of summer!!!!!!!! as bideford is an estuary i would expect the fishing to be different from bucks mills. but i have had small pollack, bass, mackerel, eels and gurnard from bucks. let us know how you make out as we are down your way again in august and the girls love to shop in bideford and it would give me an out if the fishing is ok |
