Worth having a chat with the tackle shops for info. Never believe all you hear but some truth is usually spoken. Dont trust the ones that are trying to sell you the entire contents of the shop as soon as you walk through the door. There are also some fishing clubs on the Island that might be worth joining. Sandown pier have a club, I think it the Lake sea angling club and for a small fee you can become a member. If you can try and track down a guy called George Bernowitzc. I think that is how his name is spelt. He is the islands main man when it comes to local knowledge. He often reports match results in the sea angling journals and I am sure he would be happy to give you a few pointers. Mention his name in the tackle shops and I am sure you will track him down, not sure but he may even be a tackle dealer. |

Hello Adyonefish
With the tides as they are at the moment I would suggest giving Freshwater bay a go at the moment or Fort Victoria early evening as soon as it get darks.
Freshwater is snag free and Fort Victoria timing is more crucial because of the strong tides. Either are capable of producing Bass, Pollack, whiting, Pout and if you are really really lucky a poss cod.
Most baits are worth a go
Good Luck

I quite often fish during the day, you'd be more than welcome to come along, sometimes a weekday though mostly weekends if the weather is fine.
