Minehead is good for lots of species you can fish from the harbour wall at high tide or you can fish the beach, I have had cod to 5lb, bass to 8 1/2lb, whiting, doggies to 3lb and eels to 7lb, all the usual baits work (lug, rag, squid, mackerel and lures).
The tackle shop is on the wall and run by a top bloke (Steve). he should be able to advise on whats being caught and what baits are catching best.
Leeman will probably be able to give you info on more marks further down the coast as I usually head south for the the other marks I fish.

high / low water fishing depends on where you go mate different marks could mean different times of the tide to fish i mostly fish 2-3 hrs before top tide then 2 hrs back
theres a place in south wales called pendine ( famous for the land speed record not sure which attempt) that you only fish the last hour of the back tide and the 1st hour of the flood |

| Hey Kins, now I know that you live in Exeter, I have to ask if you have done Exmouth? (where I used to live and catch bass regularly). If you need some tactical tips for fishing Exmouth, bung me a PM and I will wise you up. |
