are you shore fishing? if so fish the first beach in the middle you will always catch thornback ray. use a beefy setup with a pulley rig with crab or prawn or ragworm with squid. you will get get doggies there as well. you can also fish the platform near the battery, its very rough there so expect heavy tackle losses. bloody good conger spot!
post a report if you can i would like to see how it is fishing.
all the best

| Cheers jimbo! Yeah I'll be shore fishing. I think I know the platform you mentioned and if so I wont be rushing back!! I had a couple of nice wrasse there over 4 pounds last summer but by christ I lost some gear!! I'm really after a thornie though, is it clean ground at the beach? Using 15lb mainline at the mo with the usual pulley rig, is that going to be ok? |

I use 20lb on a Daiwa SHV 20. the rod i use is a Nemesis plus SLR it has the backbone to lift a large ray off the bottom. i have used google earth (love this program!) to show you where i fish.
good luck to you |
