I know this is a bit basic but what is the best way to bait fish from the rocks?
I have only been a few times and just get snagged on the bottom? i would like to fish a sandeel or makerel strips?
Thanks for any help |

Hi jelley
I also fish from a rock mark which has very rough ground. What I do is use a breakaway weight/lead. It looks like an ordinary weight but has 4 metal spines sticking out of it. Once these hit the bottom they dig into the sand and keep your rig in place so it doesn't go wondering off until it gets snagged in between a rock crevice.
Also you could use a rotten bottom rig, which is simply putting a swivel at the bottom of your trace and then get a piece of line to tie to the swivel. After that tie the other end of the line to your weight and make some granny knots on this piece of line. Then when you get snagged you will hopefully only lose your weight instead of the whole rig. |
