It depends really on a few things Torsk
1st how long a session?
2nd whats the current fishing like?
3rd Crabs play havok on bait supplies.
example:
6 hours winter cod fishing 1 Rod 2 hook pennel, I'm using 3- 5 worm per hook 10 max per rod each cast, rebaited every 15-20 minutes. roughly 30 worms an hour for 6 hrs equates to 180. This would be the maximum amount of worms that I would collect/purchase for this type of session, take into account that some casts would be left for longer to soak I suppose 140 would be more like the figure.
Thats generally how I work my bait supply out for a session.
the above is based on using blow lug by the way, blacks and yellow tails I would buy less as usually they are larger worms. |
